Finally, i have a moment to chat and put into words what's been on my mind! Not much going on... had a lovely b-day yesterday... the years are rolling by. I started this weekend by attending the Cirque de So Le show "Corteo" . it was AWESOME!! i will see them whenever they perform in San Diego... AMAZING!! Seeing all of the acrobats and everything makes you want to go to the gym and work your PHAT Arse off!! (if you have one) .. Just hung out with Roxi Saturday all day... lazy day ...then dinner and cocktails Sunday. Seems like when you get older, birthdays are much mellower!

Thanks NML for the info regarding my upcoming trip to London... i can't wait to get there this year and onto IBIZA.. trying to squeeze Paris in the trip somehow, we'll see..

Well it's here!! A new Year. I have sooooo many things I want to accomplish as well as improve on. I'm not the type that makes resolutions .... A new year, clean slate... i'm EXCITED! The holidays were lowkey. My sister Deb came out to visit and we had a blast... as always. New Years was awesome! Looking forward to being more diligent with blogging as it's a great way for me to remember what went on throughout the year in my life.

Going into the new year single is rather nice. I'm still communicating with my brazilian friend and the russian friend but they're not "boyfriend" material. So my search continues ;o}

We shall see....

It's been a WILD week... looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. Going to have a few happy hour cocktails with Shak tonight.. she is amazing! i remember our last trip to Vegas.. she's like a GUY magnet... we had a blast in Vegas, we didn't have to pay for anything.. we strolled right into all the hot spots .. one night Lindsay Lohan was there!... but we had our own party thing happenin! .. in one weekend i met a professional boxer, an attorney and a pro basketball player! .. AMAZING!!... well those partying days are on hold for now since i'm committed to the brazilian... wow, can't believe i'm saying that!... he's pretty cool.. and worth it!

... two more weeks and he returns.. that will be nice!! i'm just going to entertain ms. Roxi and cruise the neighborhood festivals this weekend.. there's one in little Italy i may check out.. and that's very close to my house so maybe we'll walk... i do have some projects at the house to work on as well... i swear, i need a cleaning person...i can't keep up...

i caught up with a few girlfriends this week, Leah and Karen... we went over to Wine Steals.. pretty cool place...although i noticed on my online bank statement, they charged me TWICE .... INSANE!!! better get that fixed....hmmmmmmm, let's see, what else...my boss has left early today so i'm hoping i'll do the same here shortly....

...quiet weekend for me since the 'brazilian" is in brazil for three weeks... had a company bowling event on friday.. turned out very well... caught up on household chores this weekend....had lots of time since i wasn't entertaining.. Roxi was happy... discovered how much junk i really have at my house!... i was going to participate in the three day breast cancer awareness event in november but my team fell apart... i could do it alone and maybe i still will, who knows... i have bunko tonight with the girls... havn't been in a while so that should be fun.. catching up and all... finally spoke to the brazilian today.. he had only been emailing me since it's so expensive to call from there... i told him to call me collect...this is a guy who paid over $1400 on a watch for his daughter's bday gift, but won't pay $1.10 per minute to talk to me for a few minutes... WOW! i don't get it...anywho.. it was nice hearing from him... i miss him a lot... can't wait until his divorce is final and the ex is history!... well i may add some more later as i'm at work right now and things are piling up...

.. it has been an "amazing" couple years!!... i have NO idea where to begin but writing it down helps me remember.. i'm gettin' old ya know...

let's see.. Roxi is full grown and CRAZIER than ever!!!!.. i'll try and post some pixs... my neice just visited me last week, 10/23.. she flew out to go to the Dave Matthews concert with me... we did other things too, wild animal park, country line dancing... shopping... etc. we had a BLAST!! i've been home to Virginia a few times... celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary this year in February.. that was fun... i went home again in August and stopped thru Michigan to pick up my bro' Tim and his kids.. that was very cool... they are great kids... balls of energy.. glad i dont' have any!...WOW! almost forgot.. i met this really nice guy (brazilian) on August 10th.. a few days before flying out to the east coast... well let me just say.. he is "very cool"! I met him at Jack's in La Jolla... i'm very very excited about him... he's semi-retired, lives in orange county .. 91 miles from me.. just going thru a divorce.. there's a little bit of baggage and drama so we'll see how it goes...if you don't know me,... you know i don't do drama or baggage!! I don't have any so i don't deal with any...;o}

my job's going very well.. considering there are times i'm not fond of my supervisor but i have learned to adjust. Let's just say i keep my resume up-to-date at all times... i have a few projects/tasks in the works.. i'm participating in the 3 day breast cancer walk in November. My sister, Deb is visiting me in December... i'm planning on taking a few classes next year to brush up my creativity... I want to take a pottery making class and photography class... should keep me busy... even though i'm not a big blogger, i read a few blogs weekly. it's been a while...

...since my last post.... i've just been soooooo busy with life .. and reading other posts. I love this bloggin' thing. ;o}

let's see, where to begin... it's been a very low key month... i've been seeing this guy since August... very casual, non exclusive thing really... we'll call him AI. He's really sweet but has baggage (kids, ex-wife, yadayada) so I know it will never go beyond a "casual dating thing" but he's really fun to hang out with so i'll enjoy him until i meet someone else more interesting. My niece is coming out March 16 for 5 days with a few of her girlfriends from Virginia... we'll do the sightseeing thing since her friends have never been to california... they want to go to disneyland.. ARGH!! I'm so OVER disneyland! I'd rather do wild animal park or seaworld. I'm also hosting bunko next week at my house.... looking forward to that... just have to keep Roxi from jumping all over people and eating their shoes! Going to the big st pattys day parade on the 11th with a bunch of friends...i hear there's lots of cute boys out during the parade... yahoo!

i'm in the mood for a Georges Mojito tomorrow.... just might make that happen.... so glad it's almost Friday!

Bunko!

so my girlfriends have been in this bunko group for years.. and they have been asking me to join them for YEARS!. I gotta tell ya, it's a pretty eclectic group of girls.. some of whom i didn't know until i joined the group.. it's a lot of fun though... we have dinner, play bunkco, share stories, wine, laughter... etc. We also catch up on what's been going on in each others lives, since bunko is once a month. A few of the girls are married, have kids and they share there disciplinary tactics with us gals... last night one of the girls mentioned that when her kid doesn't sit still for dinner... she duct tapes her legs down to the chair so she doesn't move... now maybe it's just me... but "what the H... E... double hockey sticks .. is going on! So i don't have any kids and I have no idea what it's really like to spend days, weeks, months, YEARS! day in and day out with a young human... but I know I'd figure out another way to discipline my kid when he doesn't want to listen...my parents didn't have to duct tape us to the chair... we knew how to behave at the table... and every where else. I guess every parent has their issues with the kids and different ideas on how to discipline them... my suggestion? no duct tape!!

time sure does fly when you're having fun..;o} i can honestly look back and say "i don't have any regrets".... I think i'll go out and party like a rock*Star tonight downtown... speaking of rock star.. i got a puppy (chihuahua, mini pinscher mixed) about 3 months ago.. she's now six months old and a cute little ball of energy... i named her "rock star" .... but i call her.... "Roxi".. for short... once i get around to posting pixs on this site, you'll be seeing her a lot... she's the cutest!! I have a cat named "Alex" who's 16 years old... and hates! Roxi... in fact he goes away for days at a time and shows up occassionally just to check on us.... when he started doing this, I decided to put his collar with his name and number back on him ... just in case someone thought he was a stray and called the pound on him.... well last Sunday i got a call from a neighbor (about a block over) who asked me if Alex was my cat and how old he was... she said he was the sweetest cat and that he loved her and her husband and cat... I asked her if I owed her room and board! for taking-in Alex.. she laughed and assured me that it wasn't necessary and she wanted to make sure i knew where he was and that he was ok... hmmmm... i'm wondering... is she going to keep him! ;o}

Wow... this is cool. If this doesn't help me express myself... or help my writing skills.. it will surely give me a way to vent! I'll look back on this in 10 plus years and realize how NUTTY I really am!

so a little about "me"...

- I was born in D.C./Virginia a few decades ago (I don't look nor act my age)
- I'm the baby of six, my parents still reside in Virginia.. all of my siblings are in the area as well
- I had a pretty cool childhood, kinda strict!.. my parents are great and I'm very proud of how they raised six kids on their own, without government assistance!... considering they were kids themselves... my mom was 15, my dad was 20.... 48 years later they're still together and happy.
- My mom made sure we went on family trips and took advantage of all the sights in D.C., like the White House, the House of Representatives, Capital Hill, all the museums... my grandpa was Tip O'Neils' (speaker of the House) Cheuffaur for over 30 years.. - We kids went to all the amusement parks, Hershey Park, Helicopter rides at Hershey park, Niagra Falls... too many places for me to remember!
- Summer time was a blast, I'd spend it at the pool. I took synchronized swimming. That chlorine did a number on my hair!... and my skin.... my parents use to call me "little sambo" at the end of the summer.. I was soooooooooo black! ;o} Boy was it fun!! I have to thank my Aunt Lil' for those good times too!
-the years just flew by..... joined the Navy in 88" .. came to San Diego... traveled all over the world, met some wonderful people, got my degree.... got married, got divorced... at the moment... I'm single, sexy and FREE! ;o}

I enjoy reading all the blogs .... I'm canceling my newspaper subscription!! ... i can get all current events from peoples blogs... i'm going to try and get all my friends and family on here so i never have to write a letter that involves stamps! Ever again! ;o}
